Washington Project
Vision
To meet a critical government need.
Reason
There is a need for stability and affordability for county governments in the State of Washington in the areas of software for the operation and administration of the Assessor’s and Treasurer’s offices.
The need that TASC would answer is for the county governments within the State of Washington to have a cost effective means of administering property tax assessments and/or collections.
Benefits
There would be many benefits to a government administration system developed under this model.
- The potential for cost savings to the counties is significant. The more counties that join the project the greater the potential savings.
- The software stability (your knowing that it is not going away next year) has financial, budgetary, procedural and personnel benefits.
- The system would be developed targeted for Washington State county needs.
- The system could facilitate the exchange of data between county offices.
- The system could facilitate the exchange of ideas among the counties on how to deal administratively or technologically with circumstances as well as how to improve the government administration system.
- Technical support would be more comprehensive with many counties using the same system.
- It is likely that additional reports that the Assessor’s and/or Treasurer’s offices need to produce and submit to the State could be automated saving the offices time that would otherwise be expended in producing the reports.
- Note that there also are benefits for the state such as getting reports from multiple counties all in the same format.
